Just when the Knicks got back to full strength for the first time in weeks, they suddenly have a new injury concern ahead of Game 2 against the Cavaliers.
Charles Wenzelberg / New York Post
The Knicks’ key trade-deadline acquisition appeared to land on teammate Julius Randle’s foot following a tip-in by Cleveland center Jarrett Allen late in the fourth quarter, one possession actually before Hart nailed the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:49 to play in the Knicks’ 101-97 victory.Randle sat out the final five games of the regular season with a sprained ankle, while Brunson played in only four of the final 14 games due to foot and hand injuries.
He has emerged as a versatile and valuable role player off the bench, with the Knicks going 18-8 in his 26 appearances, including Saturday’s victory in the series opener.Charles Wenzelberg/New York Post “He [practiced] some. It was pretty light. Just got mainly treatment,” Thibodeau said. “He did a little bit of what we were doing. But more mental today, just get treatment, and again tomorrow, see where he is.”
