Exclusive: Jpegmafia (darkskinmanson) finds atonement in 'Jesus Forgive Me, I Am A Thot' video
Boundary-smashing Baltimore rapper Jpegmafia is one step closer to his truest self on “Jesus Forgive Me, I Am A Thot,” his first solo single in over a year that debuts today via EQT Recordings, exclusively oncomes an accompanying visual and the announcement of his headlining Jpegmafia Type Tour, starting in October.
The visual, directed by Andrew Mcglennon, captures the clashing styles and unpredictably ethereal twists of the new tune, but it didn’t come without its challenges for the enigmatic artist. "I hiked five fucking hours for this shoot. Five. Fucking. Hours. If anybody doesn't like it, then fuck you. I hiked five hours. I don't care,” Jpegmafia tells. “It's beautiful, it's elegant, and it doesn't have to force you into keeping your attention. I just wanted something that was able to be suspenseful without forcing it.
