The ruling puts in jeopardy the Obama-era DACA immigration program, which President Joe Biden had sought to preserve.
A federal judge in southern Texas ordered the Biden administration to immediately stop granting new applications under the Obama-era immigration program known as DACA.

The ruling, which cuts against President Joe Biden's support for preserving the program, came the same day that outlets reported the number of arrests at the U.S.-Mexico border had reached its highest level at this point in the year in more than a decade.
