Katie Holmes ditched the traditional ball gown and took a more laid back, but still elegant, approach to dressing for the evening.
Last night, New York’s elite gathered for the 2020 Whitney Art Party, held at the Whitney Museum in downtown Manhattan. One star in attendance at the event was Katie Holmes—and given the setting, you might expectto pull out her best formal wear for the occasion. That she did, albeit in a much more unexpected way: Holmes ditched the traditional ball gown and took a more laid back, but still elegant, approach to dressing for the evening.that consisted of black trousers and an off-the-shoulder top.
The two-piece was a fresh alternative to a floor-length gown, but still felt decidedly dressy. Her choice of accessories really elevated her skin-revealing top, too: Holmes carried a leather top-handle Tod’s bag, before finishing it off with satin Giuseppe Zanotti mules featuring a bow detail, and vintage onyx earrings from Turner & Tatler. The heels, in particular, helped add an instant formal feel to her outfit.
