The model turned to colorist and Redken brand ambassador Cassondra Kaeding to make the subtle change
While the Jenner, 24, doesn’t experiment with her hair too often, the supermodel made a subtle yet totally gorgeous color change this past weekend. Celebrity colorist and Redken brand ambassador Cassondra Kaeding shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Jenner’s new look post-glam session on Instagram.
Jenner’s fresh style appears to be a copper-y, caramel hue that adds warmth and dimension to her shoulder-length cut. “glammed up on a Sunday, hbu? 💫⭐️,” Kaeding captioned her post of Jenner, also tagging the model’s hairstylist Jen Atkin and makeup artist Mary Phillips. Kaeding tells PEOPLE she used the Redken Blonde Idol high lift to lift Jenner to the desired color, which she describes as a “caramel golden light brown.” She explains: “Kendall is still in the brunette family, but is two levels lighter. This lightness gives her a little softness and is very complimentary to her eye color and skin tone. Skin tone and eye color play a big role on deciding what level and tone are appropriate.
The entire process was “fairly quick,” the colorist says. “It took about 1.5 hours including application and processing time. This is because she had the lightness underneath from her going blonde.” Adds Kaeding: “This color is great because it gives a client a chance to make a subtle change to their hair color without a huge commitment and no damage!”
