Over Santiago Garcia Lopez is no longer with KIPP East End High School, where police say he engaged in sexual intercourse with a student.A former teacher at KIPP East End High School has been arrested for having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student, according to court documents.
Garcia Lopez was arrested Tuesday. He appeared in court Wednesday afternoon, when a hearing officer set bond at $100,000 for each charge. "School leadership contacted the student's family, Child Protective Services and the Houston Police Department immediately upon learning of the allegations," the school said in a statement. "We are working to support our students and staff through this difficult time."
When contacted by ABC13, the campaign responded, "We are shocked and saddened by Garcia's arrest. He is no longer associated with the campaign in any way and we have terminated his employment."
