People living on a road that has been closed for more than 400 days are still waiting to see some sort of progress on the project.
The 19 Troubleshooters spoke with one commissioner who placed blame on his fellow board members for stalling work.It has been 434 days of signs sitting out on Ford Road in Madison Township.
Commissioner John Hamercheck says the other two commissioners won’t agree to a vote to allocate money to the engineer’s office for the project.“The commissioners always pay for projects as the bill comes due and you have an actual concrete number of money to appropriate,” said Commissioner Plecnik. “You don’t simply allocate millions upon millions of dollars to an office that then can spend it even before the project is due on other items.
He also pointed out he was the commissioner who motioned to declare an emergency for this project last year, giving the engineer authority to secure a contract.
