LeBron James and Anthony Davis spoke with Russell Westbrook via phone during the first weekend of NBA Summer League to express their commitment to each other and vowing to make it work, sources tell Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.
Westbrook's future with the Lakers is uncertain as they've again been rumored to be seeking a trade of him. Westbrook, for his part, has never requested a trade from the Lakers. The meeting between James, Davis and Westbrook was to ensure all three were on the same page in pursuit of a title. James and Westbrook each attended a Lakers' Summer League game but remained on separate ends of the arena.
