With school out for the summer, the Lone Star Flight Museum in the Bay Area has a lineup of events for youths and their families that includes camps and themed events such as Lego Day on June 17.

Here are some of the events and activities planned over the next three months at the museum, which is at 11551 Aerospace Ave. in the sprawling Ellington Airport complex. General admission prices are $18 for adults, $12 for ages 4-11 and $15 for ages 65 and older and ages 12 to 17.Summer camps From June 12 through Aug. 4, the museum is offering camps from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday for children ages 8-14. The cost is $250 per camper, with museum members receiving a discount.
"They start out learning the basic stuff of how airplanes work up to the point to where we get into Pilot Maker I, Pilot Maker II — our advanced pilot classes," said Douglas Owens, the museum's president & chief executive officer."We'll have them flying simulators in hurricane winds.That camp, for ages 10-12, will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 17-21.Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Several organizations will provide drone demonstrations. A large drone hangs from the ceiling of the Claire & Robert L. Waltrip hangar, with information on the second floor on its history.The museum on July 22 will honor the"Star Wars" movies by telling how aviation and planes set the model for futuristic machines shown in the popular"Star Wars" series of movies.The event will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
