Nearly a month ago, not having anything else to write about that day, I reported here on an exciting little encounter I had with a bunch of mad hornets.
A typical specimen of these yarns came from the insurance man I ran into just after my battle with the hornets, when I was still able to show scars. So I asked and he said"about 20 times." So I judge he was stung maybe 10 times. The temptation to stretch these stories is great. Now you take the grocer. He said he got into a bunch of ground-nesting hornets the same as I did. Not once, but twice. Said he kept looking up in a tree, thinking the things had attacked him from above, and he walked back over their hole and was attacked again.
