As political discourse descends to new lows of derision and divisiveness, Americans must confront hard truths and ask hard questions. Like, what kind of country do we want to become?
“The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate for the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty and we must rise to the occasion. As our case is new, we must think anew and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country."

And an insider political game will not be able to defeat it. … The only thing that will defeat him is if we have a phenomenon of equal force, and that phenomenon is a moral uprising of the American people.”
As incivility reaches new heights, there is a mounting hunger for leaders to bring out the goodness of America’s humanity; to raise the bar of human decency, not to lower it. Many pine the likes of , a law-maker whose moral courage compelled him to risk the wrath of his party. Leaders grounded in integrity, unwilling to surrender principal for power, nor to dehumanize, debase and diminish any who threatened it.
But just as fear is contagious, so too is courage. And the path of moral courage, particularly in"stormy times," distinguishes itself from others because it is the only path upon which an individual or nation cannot get lost.
