The debate on migrants crossing the border — and dismay over Gov. Abbott’s busing policy — continues among readers.Planned and well-organized busing of immigrants may be a win-win idea. Many states would benefit from and be able to welcome these individuals.

We — the United States of America — will be proud of our actions, now and even more so, in the future.By dropping three busloads of lightly dressed immigrants near Vice President Kamala Harris’ house in Washington, D.C., without notification on a frigid Christmas Eve, Gov. Greg Abbott crossed the line between cheap political stunt and active cruelty.

There will be a “problem” regarding immigrants as long as there are natural catastrophes, oppressive governments, dictators, would-be-dictators and those who forgot “do to others as you would have them do to you.” Abbott is far removed from the three Magi greeting the Christ Child. The contrast between Abbott’s disservice to the constitutional rule of law and due process, and the life of Jesus is palpable. His victim-shaming, unconscionable. The official residence of the vice president of the United States is Number One Observatory Circle, Washington, D.C.
