Re: “City Hall must exercise fiscal restraint now — Dallas cannot afford the city manager’s proposed budget,” by Cara Mendelsohn, Wednesday Opinion.Mendelsohn has it right — the city of Dallas must wake up and start to trim overhead. And from what I can tell, she is the only one downtown who recognizes the absurdity of current spending and hiring trends. It’s good to finally see someone on the City Council stand up. Only in government do you see the price go up and services go down.
We expect churches, mosques, synagogues to bring doctrines to children. Along with worship, it is their function to teach the Word to the next generation of faithful. But indoctrination of any sort, liberal or conservative, has no place in our public schools.PragerU a controversial nonprofit? Certainly. Why? Because the norm in our educational system has been on a left-leaning trajectory for several decades now and many of the loudest voices against PragerU are hard left.
If the State Board of Education adopts PragerU material, it’s still up to individual districts to decide whether to use them. That’s freedom to me. I’d call that the American way.For about six years now, readers have been bombarded by ever increasing insanity promulgated by Donald John Trump. I would like to propose that the online edition ofChoosing this option would remove all stories with references to this particular individual. The print version of the paper would continue as usual.
