Readers criticize giving Jan. 6 reports to Fox News; comment on the latest discovery of huge galaxies; advocate for voting on college campuses; comment on a column on marriage; and wonder about the future of our entitlement programs.
Also, the Fox News channel further diminishes its standing as an objective news source with journalistic integrity by even accepting this cache without insisting that all news agencies have equal access. It simply does not make sense to give one news source a monopoly on this information. Many questions about the universe can be answered by philosophers and religions better than the scientists can answer, but it does indicate infinite powers or a power beyond the finite comprehension of humans. It seems humans may not be at the top of the intellectual and scientific thought chain.Rep. Carrie Isaac’s House bill filing to prohibit voting at universities is wrong! As a veteran, I have served to protect the right to vote.
McCloskey’s column compelled me to write a response. My life began during the Depression in 1932, the last of five siblings. Recalling all stages of life from grade school to the present creates appreciation for a life of good fortune. Recalling the past is nostalgic and packed with appreciation for my parents. Christian values have been the rule and parental examples set the values to live by. The real beginning was at age 7 when enrolled in first grade.
