Of late, I’ve observed a common theme running through many of the letters submitted by your readers. Generally, people are concerned that politicians at all levels are ignoring where their constituents are centered.
Six years ago, Republicans had the brilliant idea to reduce the deficit by making less money? Huh? The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act substantially reduced taxes, mostly on higher earners. To indulge Republicans’ flimsy comparison to a household budget, that’s like intentionally taking a lower paying job to cover increasing expenses.
Maybe higher taxes would encourage them to reinvest in their business instead of hoarding everything for themselves. Besides, all these spending cuts cost more long term, like ignoring a tumor until it reaches stage 4.Re: “Area homes prove to be moneymakers — D-FW homeowners outperform rest of U.S. in generating equity,” Thursday Metro & Business story.
It appears the president still has the stamina and strength it takes to be president after all. I know I’m counting on him!I write to share my story — a story of someone who’s lived with physical and mental disabilities for over three decades and how he has surpassed despite the limits.
