Letters to the Editor
Clearly, there are instances of being sensible regarding National Football League contracts, but to us normal humans, the only reality is protecting our quarterback.AdvertisementI’m so happy for the Texas Rangers in making some good, last-minute changes, but, frankly, I couldn’t care less. Seeing as we can’t watch them on TV anymore without paying, I have no idea who is even playing on their team.
There is also the option of requesting to transfer from one public school to another. It doesn’t mean the requested public school will admit the child either. With current capacity, there will be a few who might not get into a private school but once this program has been established, there will be more private and charter schools created to absorb the demand. If the demand is there, the supply will catch up quickly, just like any other aspect of our economy.
Two thumbs up to Dallas City Council members Chad West and Adam Bazaldua for encouraging Dallas to oppose House Bill 2127, the new state law that limits how cities govern themselves. It is the height of hypocrisy for Texas Republicans, the champions of small, local government, to stick their noses into our regional business and override the consensus of our citizens. They love to bandy the word “freedom” around, but they’re behaving like control freaks in every aspect of our lives.
