We chat with InsidiousTheRedDoor star Lin Shaye about the Lamberts' story ending and more potential stories for Elise Rainier in the Insidious franchise:
Insidious: The Red Door is set ten years after the events of Insidious: Chapter 2. Josh Lambert is dropping Dalton off at an Ivy League university, but soon after, familiar demons from Dalton's past begin to haunt him. In order to end the Lambert nightmare, Josh and Dalton will return to The Further and face their demons once more.
Lin Shaye: I think everything has a beginning, middle and end, ultimately. I think sometimes, especially in storytelling, it's enough already, as they say, because I know we've all seen shows that we went, "Oh my god, they're still [going]?" There's especially series that get like that, "Isn't that over already? Is this done already?"
Lin Shaye: Yeah, I have some ideas, I've thought about doing a little treatment with some thoughts I have about where she is in The Further, what she could be doing in The Further. It opens up your own imagination, and because The Further is not defined at all, except for there being fog on the floor, it's sort of all we know for sure. [Laughs] So, I definitely have some thoughts that I really may put into action and do a lookbook or something with my son, we've talked about that.
