, was first posted by the Quorum Report’s Scott Braddock. It quickly went viral, as Twitter users mulled why a large trash receptacle that appeared to be full of papers would have been set on fire outside of a state agency.showing another angle of the fire and noting that arson was suspected.
“We are looking to identify a person of interest in an arson. Please contact the Austin Fire Department if you have information that can help solve this crime,” the account tweeted. One agency video that was time stamped at 6:34 p.m. shows an individual in a light color coat walking around near two dumpsters, neither of which appears to be on fire, and pausing at each of them. In the other video, taken 20 minutes later, the dumpster on the right is burning. Two individuals exit the building next to the dumpsters with three trash cans and appear to empty them in the dumpster that is not on fire.
After tweeting the videos, the agency Twitter account added that the suspected arsonist was featured in the earlier video. “The person of interest is the individual that appears in a white jacket and some type of head covering in the video that does not have flames in it,” the account noted..
