LIVE: Press conference underway after 4 killed in Louisville shooting; suspect dead
Multiple others were injured in the shooting at Old National Bank.Nine people were taken to the University Hospital and are receiving treatment. Two of the injured victims have been confirmed as officers.
Calls came around 8:30 a.m. to the Old National Bank on reports of an active shooter in the area, according to MetroSafe dispatchers. The call was changed to an active aggressor report a short time later.Police said officers were on the scene “in minutes,” Louisville Metro Police Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey said, and traded gunfire with the shooting suspect, who died shortly thereafter.
“When we talk about praying, I hope people will,” he said. “For those that we are hoping can make it through the surgeries that they are going through, and we’ve got to do what we have done these last three years after everything, we’ve got to wrap our arms around these families. And everybody who needs it, don’t be afraid to get some help.”and will be there throughout the day.
