More than 70 million Americans are seeing impacts from the winter storm from the Mid-Atlantic to Maine. Before the storm moves away from the U.S. parts of New England could be measuring the snowfall in feet not inches.

"FEMA is prepared to assist communities who may face impacts caused by the storm, and we continue to encourage everyone to follow the guidance of their state and local officials."According to FlightAware, 98% of all flights out of LaGuardia Airport are canceled Saturday. There are only eight flights scheduled to depart that airport.
According to the NWS, a snowstorm must reach the following criteria to become an official blizzard: sustained winds or frequent gusts to at least 35 mph and considerable falling and/or blowing snow that frequently reduces visibility to one-quarter mile or less, both of which must persist for a period of three hours or longer.NOAA's Weather Prediction Center says heavy snowfall rates up to 2 to 4 inches per hour are expected today along portions of the mid-Atlantic and New England coasts.
