started life as a 2008 BMW 535i. The seller, Edwin Cuencas on Facebook, says he took the entire drivetrain out of a 2007 M5, including the engine, seven-speed SMG automatic transmission, and differential, and spliced it into the wagon body. The wiring harness, seats, dashboard, and suspension have also been swapped over.
According to the listing's description, the engine has been given a set of aftermarket intakes, a custom exhaust, and a tune. It mentions that the rod bearings, a common issue on these S85 engines, have been replaced. From the photos we can also spot a carbon fiber hood, a carbon splitter, painted brake calipers, and aftermarket wheels.
This Touring is currently up for sale on Facebook Marketplace in Norfolk, Virginia with an asking price of $55,000. With nearly 100,000 miles on the dash, that might seem like a lot of money for an M5. But considering all the custom work done on this wagon, we're not too angry at the number.
