Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh is tracking breezy conditions and a few lingering showers at times, especially from I-95 to the beaches.
We’ll sneak in a little sunshine at times today, and temperatures will climb to the low 70s inland and stay in the 60s at the beaches.
Wednesday is looking like the nicest day of the week with sunshine and milder temperatures in the upper 70s. Our next disturbance arrives on Thursday. Buresh says we’ll have afternoon showers and thunderstorms develop with mild temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s. Temperatures warm to the 80s by Friday and into the weekend. Saturday’s temperatures will be in the mid-80s.Jacksonville Beach has taken multiple beatings in recent months. Tropical Storms Ian and Nicole last summer wiped away more than two billion pounds of sand, almost the same amount the last renourishment project replaced six years ago.
As part of the Shore Protection Project, the Army Corps of Engineers dumped 2.7 billion pounds of sand along ten miles of Duval shoreline in 2017.Rich Jones is the Host of Jacksonville’s Morning News.
