Police say they have nabbed the Long Island driver suspected of striking an 8-year-old girl Sunday and leaving her in an alleyway with a broken leg.
The hit-and-run occurred around 1:30 p.m. behind a Valley Stream home off Dartmouth Street, according to authorities.
Investigators said the SUV hit the girl as she was playing in an alleyway behind the residence. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was being treated for a broken leg.Get Tri-state area news and weather forecasts to your inbox. Officials announced the arrest of the suspected driver, a 52-year-old Valley Stream man, Monday afternoon. He's being charged with leaving the scene of an incident.
