was sentenced to four life sentences Monday, Harris County District Attorney's Office officials said.
Canada on the night of March 14, 2021, was driving on FM 2920 when he crashed into another car driven by Porsha Branch, 28, of Houston. Canada suffered minor injuries in the crash. His blood alcohol level was 0.15, nearly twice the legal limit, and his blood test also showed marijuana and Xanax, according to prosecutors.
In the years since the crash, the district attorney's office has used the case to emphasize the dangers of drunken driving. Last year, Ogg, Branch's family and other law enforcement officials held a news conference in front of the charred and twisted remains of her car to urge people to make smart driving decisions during the holiday season.
