The board expects to approve the preliminary budget at its Nov. 14 meeting and vote on final approval on Dec. 19.
Lower Paxton Township will hold the line on taxes in its $28.1 million projected 2024 general fund budget, the board of supervisors has announced.
“We understand the inflationary pressures felt by our residents,’’ said Lowman Henry, the township’s board of supervisors chairman. “Going into this budget season we were determined to hold the line on taxes.’’ Among the expense-saving measures was a new streets agreement asking companies such as gas or electric utilities to offset street repaving after road work. The companies handle patching the streets and then pay an agreed amount for eventual repaving. The new program ended the year almost $300,000 above budget.
