Lucasfilm's latest Star Wars book features a surprising image of Rey and the logo of the New Jedi Order. Just what does the future hold?
Star Wars has already begun to market Rey with the New Jedi Order logo. The sequel trilogy has often been criticized for a lack of planning, but Lucasfilm always knew how the story would end for Daisy Ridley's Rey. The Art of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker describes a meeting of the Lucasfilm Story Group that took place in May 2014. "I like the idea that she's going to be our Skywalker," Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo observed, "but she's not a Skywalker.
At Star Wars Celebration 2023, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy revealed Rey will go on to become founder of a New Jedi Order. The studio unveiled the new Star Wars timeline, with each era represented by a different logo. Rey's was accompanied by the iconic symbol of the Jedi Order itself, establishing her future. Now, already, Lucasfilm's latest feature includes an image of Rey stood in front of this logo.
