Star Wars has revealed that Luke faced Vader ahead of Return of the Jedi. While building his green 'saber, Luke transmitted his consciousness to Mustafar. There, Vader easily bested him, showing how far Luke still had to go. Star Wars 35 is out now.
Warning! Spoilers for Star Wars #35!Luke Skywalker meets Darth Vader on Mustafar, the planet where the Dark Lord of the Sith was brutally defeated by Obi-Wan Kenobi at the end of the Clone Wars. Until now, it was believed that the Skywalkers' next confrontation after the Cloud City duel was not until the climactic scenes of Return of the Jedi.
The encounter is brief, as Luke is very quickly destroyed in a flash as Vader's castle stands ominously in the background. This Force-inspired confrontation will almost certainly play a big role in Luke's future. Luke Skywalker Visits Vader On Mustafar This era of Star Wars comics has focused on Luke Skywalker's struggle to find his identity after learning that Darth Vader is his father. Luke appears on Mustafar only in his true Force-form, a swirling blue mass except for his right hand - the robotic hand. Previously, Darth Vader has been portrayed similarly: a human silhouette of black and red, with his robotic limbs glowing white to portray their disconnectedness from the Force.
