In this week’s Brecksville Police Blotter, a Sherwood Trail couple came to the police station to report they were victims of fraud.
Fraud, Sherwood Trail:The wife and husband reported more than $4,800 had been fraudulently taken from their joint checking account.
The former said earlier in the month she paid a $684 credit card bill via check. She mailed it in from the mailbox in front of her home. Then the day before she received her checking account statement that showed someone changed the check amount.On Aug. 1, a Barr Road man went to the police station after discovering $9,345 had fraudulently been withdrawn from his business checking account.That was mailed from Brecksville’s municipal parking lot post office box. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.
