There are 202 new projects planned for Northeast Ohio and 45 ongoing projects, totaling $1.5 billion.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says about $2.5 billion will be spent on more than 1,000 road construction projects across the state this year.CLEVELAND, Ohio — Improvements on Interstates 77 and 480 in Cuyahoga County and a bridge replacement on Ohio 8 in Summit County are among the $2.5 billion in statewide projects planned by the Ohio Department of Transportation this year.

In Cuyahoga County, $36.3 million is being spent on improvements to the I-77 and Miller Road interchange in Brecksville. The project started in November and is expected to continue until November 2024. Other major projects include a third lane being added to the interchange to I-480 West and to I-77/Ohio 237/Grayton Road.

More than $481 million in projects are planned for Summit County, including the replacement of the Ohio 8 high-level bridge over the Cuyahoga River Valley with two new side-by-side bridges. The $154.6 million project begins in July and will be completed in June 2028. In Lorain County, work continues on two single-lane roundabouts will be built on the west leg of the intersection of Ohio 83 and Ohio 303 in Grafton Township. The $4 million project is scheduled to be completed in June.
