Apple is following the trend of other major smartphone companies by expanding the scope of its bug-bounty program – opening it up to all security researchers:

To that end, companies are launching and expanding bug-bounty programs to give researchers greater incentive to examine their code for potential vulnerabilities that could be exploited.
