‘I didn’t shoot nobody:’ Man accused in fatal robbery of San Antonio man says brother did it

Valdez died six days later of a gunshot wound to his back, the bullet stopping in his upper chest, a medical examiner testified Thursday. Torres’ brother and co-defendant, Leonard Torres, 29, admitted guilt for his part in the shooting as part of a plea agreement reached in February that reduced the charge to murder. He is expected to testify for the state on Friday.Testimony established that Valdez and a friend had gone to a convenience store on South Presa Street south of downtown that afternoon.
“I didn’t shoot nobody,” Eduardo Torres told San Antonio police Detective Manny Morales in a video interview following the brothers’ arrest Dec. 29, 2016. “He was the one who shot him.
