A man has been charged with four counts after firefight with offers near U.S. 290

A truck sits parked in front of Houston police lights early Thursday. Investigators were looking into an officer-related shooting in northwest Houston.Anthony Garcia, 34, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder of a police office, one count of felony evading arrest in a motor vehicle and one count of felon in possession of a weapon, Houston Police Department officials said.

Two officers at 12:57 a.m. noticed a vehicle driving erratically and began to follow it. The vehicle turned south on Bingle Road, just south of U.S. 290, when it lost control and hit a tree, before spinning out. The driver then fired at police with an AK-47-style rifle through the windshield of his car, officials said.
