John Daniels Jr., 30, of Cresskill, was arrested on Thursday, one day after 48-year-old Irma Daniels was found dead at his residence.

Officers located the Daniels’ body inside the townhouse, which appeared to have suffered blunt force trauma, authorities said.
Daniels Jr. allegedly struck the victim with a baseball bat before fleeing the home, prosecutors said. He was charged with murder, weapons offenses, hindering apprehension by suppression and hindering apprehension by providing false information, officials said. He is being held in Bergen County Jail pending an initial court appearance. Attorney information was not immediately available.
Prosecutors did not say whether the victim lived in the residence with Daniels Jr. or what their relationship was.
