Man dies in head-on crash with school bus in Ramona; no children injured [Breaking]
A man died last week after losing control of a pickup and colliding head on with a school bus in Ramona, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A bus driver suffered injuries that appeared minor, and he was taken to Palomar Hospital, said CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber in a news release Monday. The two children on the bus were not injured. The crash was reported around 4:10 p.m. Friday on Mussey Grade Road, south of Foster Truck Trail, officials said.The man was driving south on Mussey Road in a Chevrolet pickup when he apparently lost control of the truck on a curve in the road, Grieshaber said. The truck crossed into the path of the Ramona Unified School District bus.After the crash, the pickup rolled up a dirt embankment and then back down, landing in both lanes of traffic.
Firefighters freed the driver the truck and took him to Palomar Hospital, where he died, Grieshaber said.The crash is under investigation.
