Family confirms rapper BTB Savage was man fatally shot in Houston last week
Authorities investigate the scene of a fatal shooting Thursday March 30, 2023, near the intersection of San Felipe and Mid Lane in Houston. No arrests have been made, and authorities believe the shooting was a targeted killing.The family of a man fatally shot last week in River Oaks confirmed Monday he was San Antonio-based rapper BTB Savage.
His mother’s Facebook page confirms 26-year-old Darrell Gentry, who was shot, was the artist who rapped under the moniker BTB Savage.Victim of River Oaks-area shooting may have been BTB Savage, rapper bragged about killing robber hours before shooting Houston police said Gentry had been driving through a parking garage around 6 p.m. Thursday when two men shot at him multiple times, then fled. Police Chief Troy Finner said the circumstances of the shooting led police to believe it was targeted, although law enforcement officials were still investigating.
Hours before his death, Gentry bragged about killing another man during an attempted robbery, and on March 26 he did an interview with Vlad TV, detailing the death. According to his mother’s Facebook page, Gentry was a U.S. Army veteran, a business owner and a father.
