A man was fatally shot in East Oakland Sunday afternoon becoming the city’s first homicide of 2023.
OAKLAND — A 55-year-old man was fatally shot in East Oakland Sunday afternoon, authorities said, marking the city’s first homicide of 2023.The shooting happened about 2:29 p.m. Sunday in the 6900 block of International Boulevard, a mainly commercial area.
Police have not said what the men were arguing about, but it turned into a physical altercation before the 55-year-old man was shot. He died at the scene. The shooter fled in a vehicle before police got to the scene. A detailed description of the suspect has not been released.
