Man dancing in middle of the road during fatally struck by 18-wheeler in northwest Houston
A man whose family said he was experiencing a manic episode died Friday night after being hit by an 18-wheeler while he was dancing in the middle of a dimly lit road in northwest Houston, authorities said.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office received an initial call at 9:35 p.m. regarding a man dancing on the road in the 8400 block of Breen, Maj. Susan Cotter said. Moments after receiving the call, the sheriff’s office learned the man had been struck by a big rig, according to Cotter. When deputies and the Cy Fair firefighters arrived on the scene, the man, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead.The sheriff’s office’s preliminary investigation, which included talking to the man’s family, revealed that he had a history of mental health issues.
