A man was shot and killed Friday afternoon in Northeast Washington.
The shooting occurred a few minutes before 4 p.m. in the 4100 block of Ames Street NE, according to local police. The victim died at the scene, said Officer Hugh Carew, a police spokesman.
His name was not immediately released.The site is a residential street of three-story apartment houses. It is east of the Anacostia Freeway, between E. Capitol Street and Benning Road NE.
