Daily News | Man killed in stabbing at SEPTA station in Center City
A 22-year-old man was fatally stabbed Wednesday evening in a stairwell leading to a SEPTA station in Center City, police said.
The homicide occurred a short time after a 48-year-old man was wounded in a shooting at a SEPTA station in Kensington. The 22-year-old man was stabbed twice in the chest just before 5:50 p.m. at the Eighth Street station on the Market-Frankford Line, police said. He was transported by police to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:27 p.m.Just after 5:30 p.m., the 48-year-old man was shot in a stairway leading up to the platform at the Allegheny Station on the Market-Frankford Line, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.Small said the man told police he was involved in an argument with another man when he was shot.
