The man accused of killing one person and starting a shoot-out with police officers in Commerce City in August 2021 is pleading guilty to lesser charges, according to court records.

Officers responded to a shooting in the area and found a deceased 65-year-old man with gunshot wounds. Police were searching for a suspect and interviewing witnesses when Reineke began shooting at officers, according to aReineke exchanged gunfire with police several times before he was shot in his arms and legs and detained in the 6900 block of Fairfax Drive.
Reineke entered guilty pleas for second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder on Wednesday, according to Adams County District Court records. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 15.
