A witness told News4JAX on Tuesday that he was there when a 17-year-old was wounded in a shooting over the weekend at what the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said was a car club meeting in a parking lot on Roosevelt Boulevard.
“My friend that was parked next to me said they saw a fight going down. That’s all that I knew was happening. I didn’t see anyone get shot,” James said.
He said he was there when everyone scattered and took off from the parking lot over the weekend. James said he knew something like this was inevitable based on some of the chaos that has been reported in certain parking lots late at night. There is, however, an additional question of legal liability for owners of the parking lots, where tire marks have been left behind from people burning rubber and doing doughnuts.
