A man was shot and killed after Ogden police said he repeatedly pointed a handgun toward them and refused to drop it.
They responded to a report just before 1:10 a.m. Sunday of an intoxicated man acting erratically with a firearm.
Seven officers responded to the home at 200 North Eccles Avenue where they said they were confronted by the man outside. Police said the man pointed the handgun toward them multiple times and would not follow commands to drop it. All seven officers allegedly fired at the man, striking him. Those officers have since been placed on paid administrative leave. They added that they have previously responded to a similar call at the same address, where the same man had threatened to use firearms against himself and police.
