Man walking on I-8 on-ramp struck by vehicle, killed [Breaking]
A 57-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and killed as he walked on a west Interstate 8 on-ramp in San Diego on Sunday afternoon, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The man was walking on the Waring Road on-ramp when he collision occurred about 3:15 p.m., said CHP Officer Jesse Matias. He said a 27-year-old woman driving a white Mercedes-Benz sedan saw the man and applied her brakes, but a 61-year-old woman driving a white Chevrolet SUV rear-ended the car. The impact caused the SUV to overturn and hit the pedestrian.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he died, Matias said. The man’s name was withheld, pending notification of his family.Advertisement
