A 48-year-old man and 47-year-old woman have died after they were struck by a driver who was reportedly involved in a road rage incident. emmarileytv

Two drivers allegedly got into a crash as a result of road rage in Eagle Mountain, killing two people in a third vehicle on June 4, 2023. The road rage incident started between the driver of a Nissan Maxima and the driver of a Ford F-150 at the City Center on Sunday afternoon. The driver of the F-150 reportedly got into the emergency lane before slamming into the Nissan Maxima traveling in the eastbound lane.

Once the driver of the Maxima slammed on their breaks, officials said the Ford driver lost control and went into the westbound lane, head-on into a Porsche. “It was a very violent crash, the two occupants in the passenger car who died really didn’t have any chance as they came across where the impact happened," Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff's Office. "Then their car ended up about another 20 feet or so back from the direction, they were coming in in the first place.

The accident happened near mile marker 30 at around 1:30 p.m. Both directions of SR-73 were blocked off for nearly six hours. The driver of the F-150 was in the hospital with serious injuries, and once he is released, Cannon said he will be facing charges.
