Sen. Joe Manchin introduced a bill Tuesday that would withhold federal funding for the United States' hosting of the 2026 men's World Cup until the men's and reigning champion women's national soccer teams receive equal pay.
Manchin's legislation comes on the heels of the US Women's National Team's stunning performance during the women's World Cup, ultimately beating the Netherlands 2-0 to win the tournament on Sunday.
