Clearly the Star Wars executive producer and director has given some thought to a Mandalorian ride — and knows a few people at Lucasfilm and Imagineering who could make it happen.
“I’d probably do something that’s very immersive,” Favreau told IMDB. “I’d probably do something with haptics worked in. I’d probably use assets that we use in The Volume.”
Haptic technology provides a tactile response — like a vibrating smartphone or rumbling video game controller.Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light & Magic uses StageCraft Volumes to film “The Mandalorian” and other Star Wars shows and movies. The virtual production stages surround actors and physical sets with a nearly 360-degree array of LED screens that can display real-time effects and background scenes.
