She's been accessorising with custom shoes by Carrie Bradshaw's favourite designer
and her new stylist Andrew Mukamal pulling out all the stops, referencing specific Barbie outfits from years gone by, and delighting fans in the process.
The actress has worn a number of big brands during the tour, everything from custom Schiaparelli and vintage Versace to Balmain, Bottega and Valentino, but she seems to have chosen a favourite designer when it comes to her footwear. Following in the footsteps of Carrie Bradshaw, who always favoured the designer's heels, Robbie has turned to Manolo Blahnik for almost every major stop on theThe Spanish designer has custom designed most of the looks that she's accessorised her ensembles with, creating Barbie-fied versions of his most beloved styles – and it's a task that Blahnik revelled in.
"My shoes are elegant, fun but are also incredibly comfortable, ideal for red carpet moments," he told us. "Barbie is truly iconic, so when asked to provide shoes for the wonderful Margot Robbie, whom I adore, I wanted to update some of my most successful designs that have been in my collections for decades, with a Barbie twist of course.
"Pink is one of my absolute favourite colours; from cerise to powder pink, I love them all – and so it has been a joy to reimagine these styles in a host of pink hues."Blahnik gave a Barbie makeover to his beloved Irene pumps, a pointed court shoe, which he created in white with a hot pink toe cap and a hot pink heel. Robbie used these to accessorise her Versace suit, which she wore to the Seoul premiere, and was based on a 1985 Barbie called 'Day to Night'.
