Mark Zuckerberg and French President Emmanuel Macron will meed to discuss a partnership to fight hate speech
with the French government on tackling hate speech online, an Elysée palace official told POLITICO.
Launched in November last year, the experiment gives French authorities insight into Facebook’s processes to remove harmful content on its platform. The experiment's conclusions will be handed to Cédric O, France's new junior minister for digital affairs, on Friday.that would force platforms such as Google, Facebook and Twitter to remove hateful content within 24 hours and would be on the Parliament's agenda in coming months.the so-called Christchurch Call
, an initiative led by France and New Zealand to tackle terrorist propaganda online after the recent attacks in Christchurch, the French official said. On May 15, Macron and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will co-chair a meeting in Paris with world leaders and tech executives to agree on a pledge to fight the spread of terrorist content on the Internet.
