We chat with PartyDown legends Martin Starr and Ryan Hansen about their hilarious return to the classic Starz series, befriending the newbies, and the shenanigans Roman and Kyle get up to in season 3:

After a thirteen-year break, the cult classic series Party Down is back for a third season. Although the Starz series failed to gain an overly wide audience during its initial two-season run, over a decade of word-of-mouth has put enough support behind the show to warrant a return. It's a fortunate development, as the first run of Party Down was a hilarious and incredibly relatable effort that also served as a launching ground of sorts for some of today's best-known actors.

Martin Starr: It's fun, and there's a new level of relatability because we've all gone through the same thing as a world, as a planet. That's incorporated into the pilot. It's also just fun to revisit these characters thirteen years later, where so much has happened, and you get to jump back in and pick up where we left off, with little ties to the past and glimpses of what happened in between. For some of us, not a lot happened in between.

Martin Starr: From time to time, yeah. Certainly more than anything else I've been a part of. People wanted to know if and when the show was actually coming back, especially because there were so many little teases out in the world of like, "Well, you know, we think maybe it's going to..." and then it didn't pan out. For it to finally actually be coming to fruition, hopefully those people are happy with how it came together.
