Marvel Studios' Blade movie reportedly casts Krypton actor Aaron Pierre in a mystery role opposite Mahershala Ali's MCU vampire hunter.
Former Krypton star Aaron Pierre joins the Marvel Studios' Blade movie cast, but his role is a mystery. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige surprised fans worldwide in 2019 when a Blade solo movie was announced at San Diego Comic-Con with Mahershala Ali set to star. The project has spent the last several years in development. Feige admitted a film for the vampire hunter wasn't part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's plan before Ali expressed interest.
Mahershala Ali's debut as Eric Brooks is expected to come in Blade, widely believed to be on track for a late 2023 or early 2024 release date. The movie is directed by Bassam Tariq based on a script by Stacy Osei-Kuffour. Marvel Studios has started the process of filling out the Blade movie cast around Mahershala Ali too. Delroy Lindo is confirmed to play an unspecified role in the film, and Eternals' post-credits scene indicates that Dane Whitman could also appear.
Audiences may recognize Aaron Pierre from his prior role in Krypton as Dev-Em. Pierre was a recurring character during the first season of Syfy's Superman prequel show. The actor also appeared in M. Night Shyamalan's Old and Barry Jenkins' TV show Underground Railroad. He's also developed a relationship with Disney in the past as Jenkins cast him to voice young Mufasa in the live-action The Lion King prequel.
Regarding who Aaron Pierre could play in Blade, fans currently have the freedom to speculate wildly. There are no plot details known about the movie, so just about any character from the supernatural side of Marvel could fit. This could include allies like a member of MI-13 or Midnight Sons to reimagined versions of fellow vampire hunters. Villains like a member of Bloodpack are also possible.
